Yesterday i learned the basics of all the pieces of an oceanographic research study on the Weatherbird II. Things including cooking ( Thank you Thomas) and navigation (Boomer) to hauling in equipment such as the CTD (Conductivity Temperature Density) (thank you andrew).
Yesterday during the Capetown dredge at station 1 we found a Florida Regal Sea Goddess ( Hypselodoris picta)(picture around here somewhere. Its a slug you can't miss it). This nudibranch was so awesome to see in person because these are the organisms that i would like to study in the field. Therefore, the word of the day is Nudibranch. My fact of the day is low tide is a bad time for fishing and a great time for exploring ( there are pictures of Ken, Jesse , and I wading through the intertidal area of Bay vista recreational park and the interesting things we saw there.)
