This week has gone by so fast that it felt like a day. The first day on the weatherbird really kicked this class off because its so fascinating to be able to get an opportunity to board one of these research vessels. Then the random tropical storm that came through what was up with that? Then we spent yesterday doing an informative scavenger hunt at the florida aquarium. That place is cool. Doctor Judkins has been a great asset to developing this course as well as her staff above her.
Todays word of the day is copepod. This is because it is eaten by so many different fish including one of my new favorites the mandarin goby...and im hungry. It also has a wide range of defense tactics that we so laborously examined today. My fact of the day is that a copepod has a faster acceleration per unit than a car! Thank you Jenny!
Its been a great week and i cant wait to see whats in store for FGCU!
